PEDAGOGICAL CONTENTS


The knowledge of the teaching or it’s called Pedagogical content is important to be mastered by the teacher. The teachers have to know the children needs before start teaching practice. Teacher's pedagogic competence will lead the teacher to design and implement learning strategies that are in accordance with the competencies, characteristics and needs of students in their learning. So that, students can achieve their optimal learning outcomes.

During the observation, this is the pedagogical contents that used by the teacher in Chiengraknoi School Prathom 2:

Teaching Method

In the beginning of the lesson, the teacher gives some evaluations of the previous lesson. Teacher will find out some students’ problem that may happen in learning English. Teacher also gives motivational quote that make the students more excited in learning. 
The method that used by the teacher is direct method using drilling and repetition techniques. Teacher delivers the material by giving the students some examples. Teacher  also asks the student to repeat the word that said by the teacher as much as they can until they pronoun it correctly.

The example of using drilling and repetition method:

The teacher says the phrases or sentences and the students repeat it.

Ex.

Teacher : "Take off the shoes."

Students : "Take off the shoes."


Using repetition method makes the students easier to remember new vocabularies. The teacher also asks the student to do a group discussion based on their table group. Teacher conducts the question and answer in order to make the children be able to speak English bravely. Student who can answer the question will get some point. In the end of the class, teacher will show storytelling video in order to make them more enjoy after learning process. 

Learning Material and Innovation

The classroom has already completed by electronic media in support the learning process such as:
1. White board
2. Projector
3. Computer
4. Speaker
5. Microphone


In explaining the material, teacher uses Ms. Word and video. Microphone used by teacher to make her voice louder because she teaches the children on 2nd grade. Teacher also arranges the table format into some groups. There are 6 table groups. The aim of this table group is to make the students more active on discussing with the others.



Source of Learning and Technology


The student’s textbook is provided by the school based on their Phatom. Phatom 2 in Chiengraknoi school use “Smile 2 textbook”. Beside the textbook, the students can learn the material by reading some books in the library.

Authentic Assessment

There are three kind of assessments for the students;
  1. Teacher gives the score of the students’ worksheet. The teacher will give them worksheet that students must do. The worksheet is submitted in the next meeting. Teacher will check, give them stamp and score. 
  2. Giving some point to the student who can answer the question in daily task. The point will accumulate in the end of the semester before they do the examination. Student who get the highest score will get reward.
  3. Final examination.



Others


When class is over, they must re-arrange the table and chair neatly. Like the usual, they always do Thai greeting to the teacher and say “Thank you Teacher”. It can increase the students’ discipline and respect to the teacher.
