the student-teacher get first-hand experience on sharing their knowledge.
To learn the
teaching system, student characteristic and learning strategy while the
teaching practice.
To develop
student-teacher’s skill in teaching.

Procedure of Practicum
Teacher must observe the classroom condition, know the
characteristic of the student and choose the appropriate strategy in learning.
After the teacher know well about these situations, then the teacher has to
arrange the lesson plan based on the student’s need, choose the topic of the
material and the curriculum that used.
Outcomes of
Practicum
During the practicum, me as a
student-teacher get many experiences related in teaching. I learn a lot about
how to create lesson plan which can used as a detail guide. I also can control
the classroom condition, manage the time and get the students’ attention. The
main outcome is, I know the best strategy in delivering the lesson to the
students so the objectives of the learning can be reached.
Challenges of
Practicum
The main challenge that I
faced while teaching practice is when the children asked something using Thai Language. My cooperating teacher
usually use grammar translation method when she teaches. However, I have to
create my own strategy to make the children understand about the material that
I taught. I explained the material by using supporting media and body language.
The other challenge is duration per each class. The duration time in Thailand
school is shorter than in Indonesia. So, I must adjust the differences that
exist.
Overall
Impression
Children are individuals who
are undergoing a very rapid process of development. They have own
characteristic that different from the others. They are very active, dynamic,
enthusiastic, and curious about what they see and hear.
All the students in Prathom 2 in Chiengraknoi school also
have own characteristic, but most of them have a high willingness and
competitive spirit to learn English. They are also active, creative, and
respect to the other. They always followed what teacher asked. The teacher
needs to create fun activity and some games to help them more understand in
learning the material.
Suggestion
for Future Improvement
Student-teachers have gotten
many things during 1 month in this program. The student-teachers have to use
appropriate strategy based on their student’s characteristic. They also must be
able to manage the time and classroom condition. For this program, it will be
better if the time of teaching practice must be extended.
